Every bouquet that arrives at our studio tells a story. Whether delivered by hand or carefully shipped, the first step is a delicate inspection. We catalog each bloom, noting its condition and color. This initial assessment is crucial, as the freshness of the flower dictates the quality of the final piece. We treat your flowers not just as botanical specimens, but as the precious memories they represent.
Unlike traditional air drying which leaves flowers brittle and brown, we employ a professional-grade silica gel drying process. Each flower is painstakingly buried in fine silica sand, which gently draws out moisture molecule by molecule. This method takes weeks but ensures that the vibrant colors and three-dimensional structure of your blooms are locked in time, ready for their resin transformation.
This is where patience becomes our most valuable tool. We use high-quality, non-yellowing epoxy resin, poured in thin, meticulous layers. Each layer must cure perfectly before the next is added. This slow, deliberate process prevents overheating—which can burn the delicate petals—and ensures a crystal-clear finish free of bubbles. A single block can take weeks to pour, demanding constant attention to temperature and humidity.
Once fully cured, the piece is de-molded, revealing a rough diamond. The final stage is the "sanding and polishing ritual." We sand the edges through multiple grits, from coarse to ultra-fine, smoothing away every imperfection. Finally, a high-gloss polish is applied, giving the resin a glass-like transparency that allows you to see every vein and detail of your preserved flowers as if they were still fresh.
